The Pilgrims landed at Cape Cod on November 11th 1620 and founded
the first settlement in New England at Plymouth on December 22nd.
When the new settlers tired of the sandy beaches, they headed west
towards the Great River, now known as the Connecticut River.

Western Massachusetts has some of the most beautiful countryside
in New England. The Connecticut River winds its way down from
Vermont where the Berkshires blanket the western part of the state.

Mt. Greylock overlooks the tri-state area in the northwest corner.
Lenox hosts Tanglewood as a classical music haven in the southwest
corner, with the Norman Rockwell Museum in neighboring Stockbridge.

Holyoke is the home of Volleyball; Springfield is the home of Basketball;
