Leader In Training
Camp
Ages 15-18
8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
During this program, participants will be trained in outdoor leadership
skills for one full week and then apply those skills under the mentoring
of the lead staff of the Outdoor Challenge Camp. Participants will
assist staff in the delivery of daily outdoor adventures during the
sessions of camp. Each young leader will assist for one or two weeks
during the summer. After camp is finished, all leaders in training will
participate in a week-long overnight program that will include three
days of paddling and camping on the Connecticut River, a day of caving
in New York, and a day of community service in the Town of Amherst.
During this time, they will be continually mentored and trained in
outdoor leadership skills. They will receive a certificate from
Adventure In Adventure Out for completing the program, as well as a
letter of reference for a future job search, resume, or college
transcript. Enrollment is limited to 12.

Current
immunization (signed by a Dr. or nurse) and medical exam (within the
past 2 years to the date of the camp, also signed) need to be on file at
our office prior to submitting an online registration. These are required for all
sports and Outdoor/LIT camps at the time of registration. Registrations will not be
