Woodworking for Women
Have you ever wanted to work with wood, but remained hesitant because of a lack of too savvy? This class will give you an in-depth look at hand and power tools, all-important safety rules, and paper procedures for building and assembling and finishing a product. The class will give you a hands-on  experience with power tools, including table saw, jointer, surface plane, band saw, drill press, scroll saw, belt and disc sander. In addition, you will gain practical experience with portable electric tools such as drills, sabersaw, sanders, and biscuit jointer. Randy Prescott taught high school woodshop for 35 years and has taught adult ed in both Easthampton and Amherst . He is an accomplished woodworker and was Department Head in Amherst for 14 years. He is an Amherst native and enjoys sharing his talent with students. There is a $20 Materials fee plus the cost of wood for your project due to the instructor at the first class. There is no class on April 22nd.
