Leylee's Summer Bloom

July, 1998

...Been a while since I updated Leylee's page. As you can see, she has become large and beautiful - blooming like a summer vegetable! Here being cradled by friend and midwife Ellen, visiting recently from San Francisco.

She has become as well an enormously gregarious, funny and social person, without any hint of 'stranger' anxiety common at this age. Leylee is well loved and admired by many friends, (Meg Englan here, mother of Lorin) family and often even by strangers!

Leylee does breakfast with Grandpa Joe and Grandma Roz in the famous Shady Glen Diner, Turners Falls. Massachusetts. The waitresses all know her, having watched her grow from a "belly bump" all the way up to the paying customer she is today. Rather grown up looking, wouldn't you say?

And here, Leylee hams it up while basking in the sunset rays with beloved Uncle Dale at her sweet hilltop home.

In June, Jannie and I vacationed on Mt. Desert Island in Maine and here you see me hiking with Leylee on the spectacular coast of Acadia National Park. Can you tell she's a natural on the trail?

I finish with another shot with Dale. Aside from her everpresent whimsy, you can see what a serious and thoughtful girl Leylee already is. Sometimes more like a small child than a baby not yet one year old...
